MUSCULOSKELETAL HEALTH
Your bones and muscles support and transport you. Their complex mechanics allow you to perform everyday gestures. Whether working, playing with children, cooking or playing sports, all of this is made possible thanks to your musculoskeletal system. But for many people, moving can be difficult or painful. There are many causes for that. Diseases, injuries, age, deformities, degenerative conditions, etc. This is where orthopedics comes in.
Orthopedic surgery is a surgical specialization that deals with conditions of muscles, bones, cartilage and tendons. An orthopedic surgeon is skilled in repairing and even reconstructing these often debilitating and painful defects. At Lacroix Private Medicine, we are fortunate to have three experienced orthopedic surgeons on our teams: Dr Emmanuelle Dudon, Dr Philippe Dahan, Dr Richard Lirette and Dr François Morin.
Note that no medical referral is necessary to obtain an orthopedic surgery consultation with our specialist doctors.
Dr. François Morin specialized in orthopedic surgery at Laval University from 1982 to 1986. He then specialized in hip and knee reconstruction surgery in Toronto in 1987. Since then, he has been practicing at CHUL (Quebec city) and continued to develop his interest and passion for hip and knee pathologies. He has been in practice at the CIUSS-Université Laval since its founding.
Dr. Morin performs arthroscopy for meniscal tear and reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament by patellar tendon. He also practices hip resurfacing, for athletes who can return to their sport, often without restrictions, as well as the of hip replacement prosthesis by direct anterior approach which allows recovery and a rapid return to activity. He also performs the fitting of knee prostheses which preserve the normal movement of the knee and allow in the majority of cases a return to sports activity.
He will be happy to meet you at our Center Berger clinic.

Mr. Mario Michaud, a patient of Lacroix Chirurgie Privée, shares his experience in day surgery following a torn rotator cuff (shoulder) in a work accident.

In addition to practicing at the Charles-Lemoyne Hospital, Dr. Nguyen is also an affiliate clinical professor and head of the medical teaching unit in Montérégie, affiliated with the Université de Sherbrooke. He is also part of the CMSE team – Center for Sports and Exercise Medicine, and is an examiner at the Royal College of Canada in orthopedics.
Dr. Nguyen was one of the first to perform shoulder replacement surgery in a non-hospital center (Dix30). He helps set up joint replacement surgery within the surgery team at Lacroix.
