Extirpation of deep varicose veins<\/h3>\n

Saphenectomy, commonly known as “stripping”, is a surgical procedure that involves removing the saphenous vein, most often as part of the treatment for venous insufficiency or varicose veins. This procedure is often recommended when the saphenous veins are clinically insufficient and have significant venous reflux, causing problems such as:<\/p>\n

Procedure Overview<\/h3>\n

Saphenectomy is performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia, depending on the case. The surgeon makes an incision at the groin to expose the internal saphenous vein. Then, a device is passed inside the vein to detach it from the surrounding tissues along its entire length. Once detached, the vein is removed through a small incision at the ankle.<\/p>\n

For the safety of our patients and to prevent the risk of hospitalization as much as possible, we must respect several criteria. First of all, the surgical procedure must be adapted to day surgery.
